Short Stories

Swings

An Alex short story, written exclusively for the website, especially for Christmas 2025.

It's been a little while since I delved back into Alex's imaginative world, having been busy working on the edit of 'Foot Prints' (see coming soon section), which is a completely different style and tone. So, with Christmas approaching, I thought that Alex would be the only one to experience the wonder of Christmas in a very different way.

Enjoy and have a very Merry Christmas!

I Hate Dragons

Alex, the most imaginative member of the Chess Club from the novel Grimble, thought that the day was going to be relatively normal, until he finds himself by a huge, red dragon that seems intent of catching him no matter what!

Predating Grimble, but showing that everyday life for Alex can be a real struggle when the most extraordinary things happen, I Hate Dragons is a short story available to read online from the link below.

This version has been slightly updated from the original 1996 text and comes with an author's note to show both its origin and the origins of Alex.
